Founded by Helen Lanigan, our salon has grown from humble beginnings into a thriving business hub known for its professionalism, creativity, and warm atmosphere.

Helen began her career training and working in various salons before taking the leap to open her own. Within a few short years, she purchased her first premises on Friar Street, where her business flourished. Always striving for growth and new opportunities, Helen expanded in 2017 by opening DejaBrew Coffee Bar in Liberty Square, Thurles. In 2024, she took another exciting step, relocating Unique Hair Design to its new home at 15/16 Liberty Square, Thurles, located beside DejaBrew. Alongside the salon’s move, she also launched Melt Dessert Parlour in the same location, further cementing her presence in the town’s vibrant business community.

Today, Unique Hair Design is more than just a hair salon – it is a hub of creativity and style, employing over 20 talented professionals who work together as one family. With a dedication to excellence, our team delivers exceptional service in a warm and welcoming environment.

Established in 2017, DejaBrew Coffee quickly became a local favourite in the heart of Liberty Square. Created with the same vision and passion that drives Unique Hair Design, DejaBrew offers more than just expertly brewed coffee—it’s a space where people gather, connect, and relax. With a focus on quality, community, and comfort, Helen built DejaBrew to be a welcoming escape for locals and visitors alike, serving up artisan coffee, sweet and savoury delights, and warm hospitality every day.

Launched in 2024 as part of Helen’s continued commitment to innovation and local vibrancy, Melt Dessert Parlour is a sweet addition to Liberty Square. Located alongside the new home of Unique Hair Design, Melt is all about indulgence and joy. With a menu featuring locally sourced ice cream, fresh açaí bowls, crunchy granola pots, and handcrafted crepes and pancakes, Melt offers a modern twist on classic treats. It’s a place where families, friends, and food lovers of all ages can come together to enjoy something truly special.
